Great Start for Oakleigh Cricket Club!!

As sponsorship partners to the Oakleigh Cricket club, we would like to congratulate all senior teams on achieving an Oaks Day in the first round!! This means they had 4 wins from 4 senior teams!!

Details of the wins are detailed below:

1st XI – 8 for 202 defeated Moorabbin 9-199 in a One day thriller.  The win was a secured on the second last ball of the day with a majestic four from Spike Pinwill.  Tight bowling from Alex Ross (1 for 7 off 9 overs) and strong batting from Brent Warren (70) and Andrew Splatt underpinned the win.

2nd XI – 9 for 267 defeated Moorabbin who were all out for 212 in this two day game.  The win was set up on day one with strong batting from Oakleigh, particularly from Matt Price (91) and Will Taylor (41).  Moorabbin were all out in the 73rd over after a fine spell of bowling from Matt Naughtin who ended the game with 4/54.

3rd XI – Oakleigh 4/374 defeated Moorabbin  who were all out for 137.  Oakleigh had some great performances with the bat and ball; Andrew Donohue (133), Dylan Brambleby (102), Jimmy Benn (70) and Sam Richards 3/36 and Trent Shields 2/20.  Congratulations to Andrew Donohue the new captain on his first 3rd IX win.

4th IX – Oakleigh 8/212 (declared) defeated Moorabbin who were all out for 161 in the 49th over.  Congratulations to Al Stamps (3/18 – including 4 maidens) Will Uren (3/35) and Jutin Shah who smacked 77 with the willow.

We wish this success to continue through the season and look forward to more good news!!
